What's Really Holding You Back?

This time of year, many people step back and take stock of their success, health, relationships, what they want, and where their dreams will take them as they look to the future. We all have goals and want to be the best we can be and do our absolute best at everything. But sometimes, it may feel like something is holding us back. Something is preventing us from reaching our full potential and achieving our goals. What is this thing? Is it because of who we are as humans? Do we struggle with laziness or procrastination? Or self-doubt or fear of success or judgment? So what's it really take to move the needle in your life? What may be the real culprit lurking behind your mind's eye that's holding you back from your dreams and how you can overcome these obstacles once and for all!

One of the big things that can hold us back from our dreams is fear. Fear of failure, fear of success, and judgment can all prevent us from reaching our goals. We are afraid to try something new because we're scared of not succeeding. Or maybe we are worried about what other people will think if we achieve our goal. This type of fear can be paralyzing and keep us stuck in our comfort zone. The best way to overcome this fear is to face it head-on! Take small steps towards your dream, and gradually work up to bigger goals. Accept that you may not succeed first (failing faster is actually good), but remind yourself that it's okay to fail as long as you learn from your mistakes. And remember that other people's opinions are just their opinion. It's essential to focus on what you want, not what others think you should.

Another thing that can hold us back is our self-doubt. We may doubt our ability to achieve something or feel like we're not good enough. This type of self-doubt can be incredibly debilitating and keep us from trying new things. The best way to overcome this type of self-doubt is to give yourself credit for your accomplishments! Acknowledge all the blood, sweat, and tears work you have put in, and remind yourself that you can do anything you want with focus and clarity. Create a list of your strengths and accomplishments, and refer to it when you doubt yourself. 

As a final thought, there's no shame in admitting that you need assistance, and there are many people who would be happy to help you achieve your dreams. Take the pressure off yourself and find a coach to help you shift your thinking to have more success, freedom, and happiness.

You can overcome any obstacle to achieve your dreams and live the life you deserve with a bit of effort! Take small steps forward and gradually work your way up. Remember that you can do anything you set your mind to, and simple shifts in your thinking will move the needle in a positive direction.
